Nel calendario campestre ci sono cinque tipi di prowerbis: (1) quelli che marcano una Data col nome del Totem, (2) quelli che usano i numeri, (3) la filastrocca che misura l’aumento di luce solare da santa Luciia fino a san Biaas, (4) quelli che indicano la stagione invernale, (5) quelli che indicano il giorno più lungo e la notte più lunga, oppure indicano le ore uguali sia per la notte che per il giorno. Come per i Totem segnaposto, anche i proverbi di Calendario non possono nascere dalla tarda liturgia Vaticana, ma sono preistorici e antichissimi.
