The Nivkh fairy tale "The Capercaillie and the wild swan" tells about a young and ambitious capercaillie who did not calculate his strength and wished to fly with a flock of wild swans to distant lands. The swans, who knew the price of the flight, wove a long and strong cord for the stranger, taking the grouse "in tow"
