The premiere of the play “Kullervo” based on the epic poem “Kalevala” took place at the National Theater of Karelia

The main goal, which was determined for himself by the director of the play “Kullervo” Vyacheslav Polyakov, is to introduce the epic poem to those who, perhaps, have never heard the name “Kalevala” and do not know either the names of epic heroes or the stories about their exploits, so the language of the play includes details of modern life, references to things understandable to the current generation of viewers. The performance is a study, search and deciphering of the meanings that fill the legendary poetic work. The creators of the play go through this path themselves and invite the young audience of the National Theater of Karelia to go through it with them.
