the Fifth Republican Recitation Contest

On 15 May 2024, the Republican House of Folk Art hosted the Fifth Republican Recitation Contest, a fantastic event dedicated to the Day of Ossetian Language and Literature! A whopping 35 young reciters from creative studios at the House of Culture from all districts of the republic and the city of Vladikavkaz took part in the competition! The children gave rousing performances of works by Kosta Khetagurov, as well as pieces by authors who wrote about the life and work of the founder of Ossetian literature.

The jury, which included Zalina Kusaeva, Deputy Minister of Culture of RNO-Alania, Kazbek Laliev, Director of the RDNT, genre specialists of the RDNT, and representatives of the Writers’ Union of the Republic, had the challenging but exciting task of evaluating the contestants’ performances according to several criteria, including novelty, expressiveness, artistry, selection of material and disclosure of the theme.

At the end of the contest, all participants were presented with diplomas in recognition of their achievements.

The Grand Prix winners were Alan Sugaev (directed by Fatima Ktsoeva) from the House of Culture in Khumalag village and David Tavasiev (directed by Julietta Arkaeva) from the District House of Culture in Chikola village, Irafsky district.
