Regional Festival of the Mari people “Agha-Payrem”

Another bright event will please us in June. The annual regional festival of the Mari people “Agha-Payrem” will be held on June 10, 2023 in the Elmashevsky Family Recreation Park.

Among the Mari people, Aga-Parem has been considered one of the most revered and respected traditional holidays for several centuries. It is believed that the holiday is dedicated to the deities of fertility, the earth and the forces of nature and is celebrated in June after the end of sowing.

Guests of the festival will be able to get acquainted with national songs, dances, musical instruments, costumes, national dishes and drinks of Mari cuisine. The festival will be decorated with an exhibition of products of masters of decorative and applied creativity “City of Masters”.

The festival will be attended by national collectives, individual performers, creative families working in various directions of the folk genre: vocals, choreography, instrumental creativity.

The traditional Regional Festival of the Mari People is held to preserve and develop the Mari traditions and introduce the younger generation to the cultural traditions of the Mari people. All participants of the festival are awarded with diplomas and souvenirs.

Festival organizers: The Ministry of Culture of the Sverdlovsk Region, the Sverdlovsk State Regional Palace of Folk Art, the National and Cultural Autonomy of the Mari people of Yekaterinburg.
