Language is part of our identity and our culture. We remind ourselves the various forms of language and communication like song and dance, storytelling, art, and the importance to continue teaching and sharing knowledge. Writing on the Wall raises awareness of the threat of extinction of our indigenous languages. The exhibition supports the United Nations 2019 International Year of Indigenous Languages and the important role language and culture play in our daily lives. Through the artistic practices of our emerging First Nations artists, we learn how they champion and celebrate the survival of our First Nations languages.

LaDonna Brave Bull Allard, founder of the Sacred Stone Camp at Standing Rock and a former Standing Rock Sioux tribal historic preservation officer, will discuss how the revitalization of indigenous languages and knowledge systems informed the #NoDAPL movement and continues to empower Native communities and serve as a strategic resource for educational initiatives and regenerative development projects.

Es un estudio transversal no experimental, tipo descriptivo. Tiene como objetivo evaluar la implementación de la Educación Bilingüe Intercultural en los niños de tercer grado de las escuelas primarias de la Comarca Gunayala, que comprende las acciones emprendidas entre mayo de 2010 hasta 2016. Con este estudio se busca describir el plan nacional de Educación Bilingüe Intercultural del Ministerio de Educación (MEDUCA) desde las reformas hechas a la Ley Orgánica de Educación de Panamá en 1995. Se abordará también los actores sociales como percibe la implementación, sobre todo, el componente docente, igualmente el componente estudiantil; es decir, la opinión y el aprendizaje de los estudiantes. En consideración los procesos de inicio, su preparación y la implementación, y dar seguimiento el programa educativo EBI, contribuir a generar información actualizada, necesaria para orientar desarrollo de la Educación Bilingüe Intercultural a largo plazo.

KAAMULAN FESTIVAL is an indigenous festival of Bukidnon wherein the 7 tribes of bukidnon namely Higa-onon, Talaandig,Umayamnon,Manobo, Matigsalug, Bukidnon and Tigwahanon gather together in the center City of Bukidnon to celebrate this event. KAAMULAN is derived from the word "Amul" which means "to gather". Each tribe will present the the preservation of their cultural or indigenous heritage through streetdancing and performing in Malaybalay city ground (Center City of Bukidnon). These dances showcases their harvest Thanksgiving, Wedding ceremonies, hunting style, peace pacts, different kinds of rituals and the history of their tribe. They are also dressed according to their tribes and according to their rank. Their jewelries and the sign of their dress has also designated meanings.

Promoting, Preserving and safeguarding Tjwao for future generations

IY2019 is a great opportunity for the Maori Language Commission to contribute its current work to the cause. This year a programme of key events and promotions are being planned that compliment both IY2019 and meet our obligations to our government. This application is for the use of IY2019 logo and branding to be used for the calendar of events currently in planning. Because a number of events and promotions are likely to be run, this request is being made to cover all events and promotions. The full years calendar is likely to target all three thematic areas.

The school will host 20 minority language experts coming from all over the world who will discuss in and about the following languages: Arbëreshë, Castilian, Dutch, English, Frisian, Galego, Modern Greek, Griko, Hebrew, Latgalian, Louisiana Creole, Maya, Mixteco, Nahuatl, Nahuat-Pipil, Polish, Southern Quechua, Uitbergs, Wymysiöeryś. Greko experts and activists will instead present their community and their language and share with their experience in language revitalization projects. The aim of the school is to sustain local efforts for language revitalization, share best practices, and find innovative ways to deal with issues as orthographic standardization, lexical borrowings and neologism formation.

Polyglot Indonesia Jakarta Chapter presents the Language Exchange Meetup activities series entitled "Langlang Buana Nusantara!" In the fifth meetup of this series, we discussed the language and culture in South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, and Gorontalo province in an activity entitled "Visiting Lipu'u Hulondalo, Bumi Anoa, and Bumi Anging Mammiri" held on April 14, 2019. In collaboration with Ikatan Mahasiswa Sulawesi Selatan UI (IMSS UI), Gabungan Putra-Putri Sulawesi Tenggara UI (GAPURA UI), and Himpunan Mahasiswa Gorontalo UI (HIMAGO UI), we present unique facts about the three provinces and some of their ethnic language.

Urdd Gobaith Cymru is a national youth organisation providing sport, cultural and residential opportunities for children and young people in Wales that will enable them to make a positive contribution to the community, all through the medium of the Welsh language.
