Ossetian language is now available in the list of supported languages in the free service ‘Yandex Translator’

Starting from 2 July 2024, users of the popular online resource will be able to instantly translate texts from Ossetian into any language represented in the translator and vice versa. The Ossetian language corpus for the resource was prepared by the K. L. Khetagurov North Ossetian State University with the support of the Government of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania.

The project to create corpora of languages of the peoples of the Russian Federation for inclusion in the Yandex Translator service is being implemented within the framework of the Plan of main activities for the International Decade of Indigenous Languages in the Russian Federation in 2022-2032.

The project is being implemented by the Federal Agency for Nationalities and the House of Peoples of Russia in cooperation with the Yandex Translator service. The project is being implemented by the Federal Agency for Nationalities of Russia and the House of Peoples of Russia together with interested regional authorities, scientific, educational and public organisations.
