Interregional Festival of Russian German culture “PHÖNIX – PHOENIX”

On July 23, 2022, in Azov German National Municipal District of the Omsk Region, Interregional festival of Russian German culture “PHÖNIX – PHOENIX” was held.

The Omsk region is home to the largest number of Russian Germans. The rich German culture is carefully honored by its bearers. Best of all, the traditions and customs of any nationality are “translated” through festivals of national cultures.

Interregional festival of Russian German culture “PHÖNIX – PHOENIX” helps to preserve the traditional culture of Russian Germans, improve their native language and identify new talents.

In 2022, 130 artists from 18 creative teams from four regions of Western Siberia took part in the festival.

The program of the participants’ performances included works of various types and genres of creativity, popularizing the traditional and modern culture of Russian Germans. Literary and vocal works sounded in German!

In total, over 10,000 people attended concerts over the years of the festival, more than 200 groups and soloists from 13 municipal districts of the Omsk region, the cities of Omsk, Barnaul, Tomsk, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, the German national region of the Altai Territory took part.

Interregional festival of Russian German culture “PHÖNIX – PHOENIX” was held as part of the Regional Festival of National Cultures “Unity”. It was organized by the Omsk House of Friendship with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Omsk Region, with the participation of the Administration of the Azov German National Municipal District of the Omsk Region, a public organization of the Regional National Cultural Autonomy of the Germans of the Omsk Region and public organizations of Russian Germans of the Omsk Region.

In the Omsk region, “PHÖNIX – PHOENIX” has been held since 1997 at the initiative of the German national and cultural autonomy of the Omsk region. Its peculiarity is that the festival program is based on folk rituals, customs and holidays of the Russian Germans. Soloists and creative teams of various genres of amateur performances and masters of applied arts traditionally take part in the festival.
