Evgeny Khudi from the village of Yar-Sale, Yamal area, took the first prize in solo performance of a traditional song at the All-Russian festival Nomads of the North in Moscow in September 14 -18, 2022.
Evgeny is a performer of traditional songs, an expert in old legends and tales, a storyteller of fascinating stories and traditions.
In 1999, he acted in short feature films Seven Songs from the Tundra, Heavenly Bride, in 2004 he took part in the filming of Pudana – The Last in the Family by Finnish directors Markku Lehmusskalio and Anastasia Lapsui (born in Yamal).
In addition, he starred in a famous Russian film Belyi Yagel (white moss) based on the works of the Nenets writer Anna Nerkagi at the Mosfilm studio (directed by Vladimir Tumaev). Evgeny is one of the first representatives of the Nenets people who took part in filming at the Mosfilm studio.
He is the winner of the award in the field of folklore activity of indigenous peoples of the North in Yamal, holds the title of Master of folklore genre.
