Creation of the Virtual Museum of State and Official Languages of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)

In 2022, within the framework of the state program of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) “Preservation and development of state and official languages in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) for 2020-2024”, approved by Decree of the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) No. 355 dated September 15, 2022, a project “Creation of a virtual museum of state and official languages of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)” is being implemented.
The responsible main manager of budget funds for this project of the state program of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) “Preservation and development of state and official languages in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) for 2020-2024” is the Ministry of Culture and Spiritual Development of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The responsible executor of the project is the state institution of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) “National Library of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)”.
The terms of reference of the project have been developed, and a working group has been created for the Virtual Museum of State and Official Languages of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) according to the fields.
Within the framework of the project, programs for teaching the adult population the languages and culture of the indigenous peoples of Yakutia are being developed. The executors are developing adult education programs in the following languages: Even, Evenki, Chukchi, Yukagir, Dolgan, and Yakut.
In the future, language and culture curricula will be incorporated into the Virtual Museum. Agreements have been signed for the preparation of content for the Virtual Museum of Language portal. The opening of the virtual museum, according to the project roadmap, is scheduled for December 2022.

This collaborative platform was established to enable the community of the International Decade of Indigenous Languages (IDIL 2022–2032) to share events, activities, and resources. The content published on the platform is the responsibility of registered users and does not commit the Secretariat of the Decade (UNESCO) and/or the Members of the Global Task Force for Making a Decade of Action for Indigenous Languages. Please note that the platform has been inactive since February 2025 and no longer accepts new uploads. While work is underway to provide an updated solution, the Secretariat of IDIL 2022–2032 remains available for any inquiries at: indigenous.languages@unesco.org.
