A series of online events promoting familiarity with the languages of the indigenous peoples of Russia «Memory of the people is preserved by culture»

The quest game “Hello, Karelia”

The period from 2022 to 2032 was declared the International Decade of Indigenous Languages. In this regard, in 2025 we decided to get to know the Republic of Karelia and its people better. Therefore, it was decided to hold a video conference with one of the children’s libraries in Petrozavodsk. The staff of our library and children from schools in Ryazan will tell about the sights of the city, its outstanding people, and communicate with their peers from Petrozavodsk. And they, in turn, will introduce us to their city, its history and culture, as well as famous names. We hope that the meeting will be interesting and educational, and will also contribute to the further development of relations between our libraries.

This collaborative platform was established to enable the community of the International Decade of Indigenous Languages (IDIL 2022–2032) to share events, activities, and resources. The content published on the platform is the responsibility of registered users and does not commit the Secretariat of the Decade (UNESCO) and/or the Members of the Global Task Force for Making a Decade of Action for Indigenous Languages. Please note that the platform has been inactive since February 2025 and no longer accepts new uploads. While work is underway to provide an updated solution, the Secretariat of IDIL 2022–2032 remains available for any inquiries at: indigenous.languages@unesco.org.
