A large festive concert dedicated to the Day of Slavic Writing and Culture took place in Bryansk

On May 24, for the second time, the main festive concert dedicated to the Day of Slavic Literature and Culture took place at the Palace of Culture of the Bryansk Regional Methodological Center “Folk Creativity”.

The large-scale choral festival brought together almost 500 participants. Children’s, academic and folk choirs, together and separately, performed songs that have become the property of Russian culture, uniting different generations.

Before the start, the audience visited thematic exhibitions dedicated to Slavic writing, the Year of the Family in Russia, and the 225th anniversary of the birth of A.S. Pushkin, as well as the site of the regional branch of the All-Russian Popular Front in the Bryansk region “Everything for Victory!”

Honorary guests of the concert program were: Head of the Department for Relations between Church and Society of the Bryansk Diocese, Priest Korniliy (Nedbaevsky), Deputy Governor of the Bryansk Region Irina Vitalievna Agafonova, Deputy Chairman of the Bryansk Regional Duma Vladimir Mikhailovich Pronin, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on Construction and housing and communal services Nikolai Nikolaevich Alekseenko.

They congratulated those present on the day when the invaluable contribution of the creators of the Slavic alphabet – Equal-to-the-Apostles Cyril and Methodius – to the formation of national culture and to the development of the Russian word is celebrated. In their honor, a solemn Anthem was sung by the combined choir.

According to tradition, the program opened with a single performance of the Anthem of Russia and the Anthem of the Bryansk Region – “The Bryansk Forest Made a Severe Noise.”

The main part of the concert consisted of works created by great representatives of Russian culture, whose anniversaries are celebrated this year: “Patriotic Song” by Mikhail Glinka, “Not the Wind, Blowing from the Heights…” by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, “I Returned to My Homeland” by Mark Fradkin, “Winged swing” by Evgeny Krylatov, “Let there always be sun” by Arkady Ostrovsky, “Farewell of a Slav” by Vasily Agapkin.

The performance of the legendary “Katyusha” has become another good tradition of this holiday. The concert ended with works symbolizing pride in one’s country and one’s people: “We” by the young singer Yaroslav Dronov and “Great Russia” by Alexander Dobronravov.

In addition, as part of the event, awards were given to the winners of the regional stage of the All-Russian Choir Festival, folk masters of the Bryansk region, and participants in the “Bryansk dialects” competition.

For the 11th time, the Bryansk region takes part in the United All-Russian festive concert on the Day of Slavic Literature and Culture. At the same time as the whole country, favorite songs, the words of which everyone knows, are performed by the leading creative groups of the region.
