The winners of the contest “Reading the runes of Kalevala” were awarded in Petrozavodsk

The Scientific Library of Petrozavodsk State University hosted a solemn awarding ceremony for the winners of the online contest “Reading the Runes of Kalevala”, which is being held for the sixth time with the support of the Ministry of National and Regional Policy of the Republic of Karelia.

The purpose of the competition is to popularize the monument of world literature – the epic poem “Kalevala” – and to generate interest in the culture of the indigenous peoples of the Republic of Karelia.

“Kalevala” can rightfully be called a real treasure, which has great cultural significance for our region and is an integral part of the literary heritage of the Republic of Karelia.
