From February 1 to 28, 2024, the regional essay competition "My Native Chuvash Language" dedicated to the International Mother Language Day took place in the Ulyanovsk region. The competition aimed to preserve the language, traditions, and culture of the Chuvash people, to foster respect for the native maternal language as a spiritual and moral heritage, to identify students' abilities to use grammatical and expressive means of the native (Chuvash) language for free expression of thoughts and feelings, and to assess the role of the native language. Students from grades 1-11, as well as educational workers in the Ulyanovsk region with an ethno-cultural component in the content of education, regardless of religion and citizenship, and possessing the Chuvash language, took part in the competition.
