THE FESTIVAL OF SLAVIC CULTURE WAS HELD IN YEKATERINBURG

On May 20 and 21, 2023, the Festival of Slavic Culture was held at the Sverdlovsk Regional Interethnic Library.

The key events of the first day of the Festival were popular science lectures: “The Origin of the Slavs: Myths and Facts” by the historian, teacher of the highest category, lecturer of the All-Russian Society “Knowledge” Alexei Goncharov, “Myths about Slavic writing” by the philologist, teacher of the Russian language, journalist, popularizer of linguistics Svetlana Guryanova, the guests also got acquainted with traditional Russian folk musical instruments and took part in exciting master classes.

On the second day, the national courtyards of the Slavic peoples were presented at the festival site with the opportunity to taste Slavic cuisine, master classes in the possession of a Cossack saber, making dolls and much more. A concert was held on the main stage of the festival, where a variety of folklore and musical creativity of the Slavic peoples was presented, and a theatrical performance based on Pomor folklore from the youth theater-studio “Galerka”.

In the exhibition area for guests, an exposition of objects from Russian fairy tales, an exhibition of clay toys, an exhibition of artistic processing of birch bark was organized.
