In April, the Republic of Karelia will host the events “Week of the Karelian language” and “Week of the Vepsian language”

These events are timed to the Day of Karelian and Vepsian Writing (April, 20) and are aimed at increasing interest in the Karelian and Vepsian languages and informing residents and guests of Karelia about
the culture and languages of the indigenous peoples of the republic – Karelians and Veps. The coordinator
of the action is the Resource Language Center of Karelians, Veps and Finns of the Republic
Karelia (The Publishing House “Periodica”).
