enlace | Early literacy resources in Tjwao

Designed for first language Setswana speakers learning Tjwao as a second or additional language.

These resources were developed in collaboration with Dr Admire Phiri, Tsoro-o-tso San and Tjwao speakers from Zimbabwe and are designed for learning the Tjwao language at an Early Literacy Level. Tjwao is a highly endangered Khoe language spoken in Zimbabwe.

The target users are first language Setswana speakers whose ancestors would have typically been Tjwao speakers but have subsequently undergone language shift from Tjwao to Setswana. With these resources we hope to encourage the use of Tjwao again and help revive the language by encouraging the youth to learn more about their forefathers' heritage.
