Indigenous Peoples in the Modern World: Current Issues of Preserving Ethnocultural Heritage

Scientific and practical conference “Indigenous Peoples in the Modern World: Current Issues of Preserving Ethnocultural Heritage” was held in Khanty-Mansiysk.

The objectives of the conference are to discuss current issues of preserving the ethnocultural heritage of indigenous peoples in the modern world, identifying issues of preserving and strengthening traditional Russian spiritual and moral values, and determining effective steps to solve them.

The conference is intended for researchers, experts and representatives of indigenous peoples. For many centuries, indigenous peoples have been the keepers of ancient traditions, languages and knowledge, whose merit in shaping the diversity of the cultural landscape of our world cannot be overestimated.

This event is a platform for exchanging experiences, developing strategies and finding solutions aimed at supporting the sustainable development of indigenous peoples. Participants will be able to discuss contemporary challenges faced by indigenous peoples: erasing and generalizing cultural boundaries, problems of preserving folk art, including that of individual local groups, studying regional literature from a linguistic perspective, modeling linguistic consciousness through associative experiments, introducing elements of a cultural code into practice for different age groups through the development of local theater associations, and involving students in research activities.

Thus, the conference is not just a place for knowledge exchange, but also a forum for developing cooperation that will contribute to the long-term sustainable development of indigenous peoples.
